Kampkreek Dairies

Nestled in the heart of Perth County, Ontario, Kampkreek Dairies is a vibrant third-generation family farm run by five siblings. They are one of Canada’s only water buffalo dairies, raising a contented herd of water buffalo that produce exceptionally rich, nutrient-dense milk.

From this rare milk they craft award-winning, small-batch artisanal cheeses — luxuriously creamy, boldly flavoured, and deeply satisfying. Their lineup includes raw-milk cheddars, Gruyère-style wheels, wine-soaked, and spirited flavoured varieties that stand out at any cheese counter.

Farm-raised with care, Kampkreek brings something truly special to the Canadian cheese scene: exotic richness rooted in Ontario soil.

Buffalo milk done right — bold, creamy, unforgettable.

Show Special: On the Vine Buffalo Gouda

Don’t miss this featured tasting at the Great Canadian Cheese Festival!

Also known as “Drunken Buffalo,” this standout Gouda gets its unique character from a specialized production process involving a locally produced Marquette wine from nearby Huron County.

  • The Profile: Bursting with savoury, malty notes from the Marquette wine, perfectly balanced by the signature dairy sweetness of Kampkreek’s buffalo milk Gouda.
  • Perfect Pairings:
    • Wine: Robust reds like Syrah or Zinfandel.
    • Beer: Dark beers such as stout or porter, or a classic Belgian dubbel or brown ale.
